$5,000 Reward Announced in Manhunt for Florida Mall Shooter

The Ocala Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for 39-year-old Albert J Shell Jr., the alleged gunman behind a targeted shooting at Paddock Mall. Authorities have announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to his apprehension.

The incident unfolded on Saturday, leaving one man dead and a woman seriously injured. The victim has been identified as 40-year-old David Nathaniel Barron.

Barron was found dead from gunshot wounds in a common area inside the mall, while a woman shot in the leg is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Ocala Police Chief Mike Balken described the shooting as a deliberate act of violence, emphasizing the need for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect. Several other individuals in the mall suffered injuries during the incident, including one person with chest pain and another with a broken arm.

Images of a “person of interest” were released by authorities early last Sunday, depicting an individual in dark clothes, white sneakers, and a red hat. The police urged anyone with information to come forward and help identify the suspect.

The firearm believed to have been used in the shooting has been successfully recovered by law enforcement. With the community on high alert, residents were encouraged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to the Ocala Police Department.

As the manhunt intensifies, the $5,000 reward serves as a motivating factor for individuals to aid in the swift apprehension of Albert J Shell Jr.
